At the forefront of healthcare the Mater Hospital improves services through the integration of clinical care, research and teaching. In working with a large number of education and teaching partners we further support our role as a leader in the delivery of healthcare services. The result is greater health benefits for our patients and society.
Teaching Hospital
The Mater is a teaching hospital for the Australian Catholic University, the University of New South Wales, the University of Notre Dame Australia, the University of Sydney, the University of Tasmania and the University of Technology Sydney, as well as Meadowbank TAFE.
Our partnerships include undergraduate and postgraduate placements for medical and nursing students and we host academic chairs in surgical oncology and medical oncology. We also work with our teaching partners to provide leadership and formation programs for staff.
Training & Development
Whilst the education of health professionals is a core priority, we are committed to supporting the further training and development of staff in all areas and at all levels.
