Pastoral care

We aim to provide a friendly listening ear, an opportunity for frank and open non-judgmental discussion; someone who can support you in times of anxiety, stress or concern.

We know that the experience of illness and death can impact on a person's physical, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and often results in a search for understanding and meaning. Unique in our approach we offer holistic care. Treating the whole person our pastoral services department is a skilled team of professionals and includes the hospital chaplain, the pastoral care team and Eucharistic ministers.

As an integral part of the healthcare team, the department is committed to helping you deal with the day to day human concerns you have whilst a patient. We recognise that needs vary from patient to patient.

Members of the pastoral care team visit the wards regularly and are available to spend time with patients, relatives, friends and staff as required. Alternatively, the team can be contacted by making a request through your nurse.
