Our values derive from the mission and traditions of the Sisters of Charity and Sisters of Mercy and give form to all of our activities. The spirit that inspired our founding Sisters remains as true today as it did over 105 years ago.
In the words of the late Cardinal Bernadin:
“Our distinctive vocation in Christian healthcare is not so much to heal (physical diseases) better or more efficiently than anyone else; it is to bring comfort to people by giving them an experience that will strengthen their confidence in life. The ultimate goal of our care is to give those who are ill… a reason to hope… in this we find the Christian vocation that makes our healthcare truly distinctive.”
We accept people as they are, displaying kindness and sensitivity towards them.
We act with integrity and believe that everyone has the right to good healthcare without discrimination.
We treat all people with care, acknowledging that each person is unique in the eyes of God.
We excel in all that we do so we can positively promote the healing ministry within our society.
We create a community in which we collaborate with gentleness as a sign that we value one another.
We respond to those in need by providing the best possible treatment and care.
We welcome people with kindness and do all that we can to assist their health and wellbeing.
We are open to all people who need our care and our time, acknowledging that they have the right to our services.
