The expected stay in hospital for joint replacement patients is four to five days or until expected outcomes for individual procedures have been met.
Pre-Admission Clinic
It is important that joint replacement patients attend the Mater Pre-Admission Clinic before undergoing joint replacement surgery.
Rehabilitation
At the Mater we are able to provide both inpatient and out-patient rehabilitation for our joint replacement patients. As an orthopaedic centre of excellence, it is considered that this will enhance the continuum of care for our joint replacement and orthopaedic patients.
