As a leader in the provision of quality healthcare we value the ongoing development of healthcare practices - key to this is innovation of new technologies. Through the use of new technologies we can ensure the best possible diagnosis, treatment and recovery for our patients.
Foetal Monitoring System
The Mater Hospital is one of only six hospitals in Australia with a central foetal monitoring system in their Delivery Suite. Providing quick and easy real-time access to the CTG and related maternity information during labour, the system links together delivery rooms and foetal monitoring activity.
Digital Operating Rooms
In January 2011 a further two operating rooms were enhanced with digital facilities, which means the Mater now has five integrated digital suites for minimally invasive procedures.
Laser Technology
One of a select number of Australian hospitals to offer laser technology, two new lasers were recently installed:
- Dornier Holmium H20 Laser for use in urology procedures
- Acupulse CO2 Laser for Endo-tracheal (ear, nose, throat) and gynaecological procedures.
Computerised Navigation Systems
The Mater’s computerised navigation systems guide surgical techniques in a number of operative procedures:
- Orthopaedic procedures
- Cranial & spinal procedures
- Breast and melanoma surgery
